Renting a home in Dubai
Dubai rentals are agreed as an annual amount, not a monthly US-style lease. A one-bedroom in Dubai Marina is commonly offered around AED 125,000 a year. A studio in Business Bay is closer to AED 70,000. Jumeirah Village Circle is lower still. Jumeirah Beach Residence and Downtown sit at the top of the apartment rental market.
The contract is registered with Ejari. Rent is usually paid in one to four cheques across the year. Fewer cheques often come with a lower headline rent. Service charges on an apartment are paid by the owner, not added on top of the rent.
